UNEP says that technologies and developments in this direction already exist, but they are not enough. The report provides specific requirements for the use of sunlight reflective technology. This is because it is dangerous.

As scientists report, the most convenient way to reflect solar heat from the planet is to spray sulfur dioxide-containing aerosols into the upper atmosphere. It will cost $20 billion per year for each degree of cooling. Currently, this method partially helps during volcanic eruptions.

Active observations of volcanic activity led to the conclusion that the release of reflective particles into the stratosphere reduces global temperature. Some experts agree that this is dangerous because the atmosphere on Earth is one and human intervention can be deplorable. Other experts support research into the technology of reflecting sunlight from the planet.
