Coolblue announces its annual figures for 2022. With the energy crisis, inflation and the associated low consumer confidence, 2022 was a challenging year.
Nevertheless, Coolblue was able to close the year with a record turnover of 2.35 billion euros, a slightly higher result than in the previous year (+0.6%). The net loss was 6.2 million euros.
The higher sales were due, among other things, to the strong growth in Germany to sales of EUR 174 million, the increase in market share in product groups such as washing machines and laptops in the Netherlands and Belgium, and the high demand for energy-saving products.
However, with a positive EBITDA of EUR 43 million, the growth was not sufficient to absorb rising costs and pressure on margins.
Coolblue continued its advance in Germany last year with the opening of its second German store in Essen and the expansion of CoolblueFietst. Due to these investments, among other things, sales rose to 174 million euros last year.
