eBox for citizens exceeds 3 million unique users

Five years after its launch, the eBox for citizens has passed the three million unique user mark. This was announced by the Federal Public Service Policy and Support (BOSA) on Thursday.

The eBox is a digital mailbox for communication with authorities, in which all messages are centralized. A total of around 489 organizations, from the federal service to the OCMW, are currently sending messages via the eBox. In 2022, more than 82 million messages were sent this way.

eBox still had 2,275,874 unique users in December 2021. A large proportion of them joined by activating their CovidSafe ticket, but the number keeps growing.

State Secretary for Digitization Mathieu Michel (MR) emphasizes that the eBox is a secure means of communication. ‘eBox guarantees the origin, destination, confidentiality and integrity of every message. These features make eBox a particularly valuable tool for confidential government communications. Michel wants to continue to modernize and expand the eBox in the future.
