The iPhone continued to work even after being submerged for 1 week after a student dropped it in Lake Paranoa in Brazil.. He managed to find the device again after being provoked by a diving instructor who was at a depth of seven meters when he found the device.

While kayaking on Lake Paranoa, Breno Raphael noticed that a woman was drowning in the water and immediately jumped in to try to save her.. In a moment of adrenaline, he forgot he had a cell phone in his pocket and only realized he had lost it when he returned safely to the bank with the woman.

A week later, a diving instructor named Edinho Rocha was on a night dive with students when he managed to find the device at a depth of seven meters.. He said he put the cell phone in his vest pocket and waited until he reached the surface to see if it worked or not.

“I am placed [o iPhone] in a vest pocket. When I got to the surface, I thought [o] phone stopped working. And then I saw that the screen was working,” said the diving instructor. Edinho Rocha said he pressed the iPhone’s emergency button to try to find out who owns the device and made a post on social media.

Cell phone owner identified via social media video

Since the cell phone was unlocked and the instructor could not find the real owner, he decided to use the internet to find the owner. The video, created by a diving instructor, went viral with nearly 20,000 views. The shares were discovered by Breno Rafael, the owner of the device.

“I was kayaking on Lake Paranoa when I saw a drowning girl asking for help. I immediately jumped out of the kayak to help her. I was wearing a vest and with a mobile phone. take the girl to the lakeside,” Breno said.

G1 revealed that they met last week so Edinho could return Breno’s cell phone. During the meeting, the student managed to unlock the device, which worked fine.
