Dead Island 2 Estimated Requirements: Minimum and Recommended

We still don’t have official details on Dead Island 2’s hardware requirements, but we know it’s coming intergenerational transition game, and that it will not be too demanding, as its technical base will ultimately be the consoles of the previous generation, PS4 and Xbox One.

Based on this foundation and from my own knowledge, I created this article to share with you estimate minimum and recommended requirements that we will need to meet in order to move Dead Island 2. I will also explain the level of performance we can expect in each of these two levels and where the red lines we should not cross are.

Dead Island 2 Estimated Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 64-bit as the operating system.
  • Intel Core i7-4770 or Ryzen 5 1500X processor (4 cores and 8 threads).
  • 8 GB of RAM.
  • GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 570 graphics card with 4 GB of graphics memory.
  • 60 GB of free space, preferably on an SSD disk.

We can take it for granted that Dead Island 2 will run on games that don’t meet these requirements, and it could work acceptably as long as we don’t stray too far from them, but in the end I’m convinced that this minimum will be what we need it for 1080p with medium quality and acceptable fluidity.

Other half configurations that do not meet the recommended requirements will allow us to do this increase the quality of graphics or enjoy greater fluidity.

Dead Island 2 Estimated Recommended Requirements

  • Windows 10 64-bit as the operating system.
  • Intel Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 3600 processor (6 cores and 12 threads).
  • 16 GB of RAM.
  • GeForce GTX 1080 or Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics card with 8 GB of graphics memory.
  • 60 GB of free space on the SSD disk.

With these requirements we should be able to play without problems 1080p with maximum quality and high frames per second or 1440p with graphics quality adjustment to maintain a good level of fluidity, although it is clear that everything will ultimately also depend on the degree of optimization that the game has.

Dead Island 2 Estimated Requirements

A higher configuration will allow us to play in 1440p resolution with maximum quality and overall fluidity and from GeForce RTX 2080 Super-RTX 3060 Ti or Radeon RX 6700 XT we should be able to play it 4K seamlessly.

Red lines you shouldn’t cross

to play it in minimally acceptable conditionswithout resorting to very low resolutions and ensuring that the game never has stability issues, we must not go below the following minimums:

  • A processor with four cores and eight threads– A quad core/quad thread CPU will likely have very low minimum FPS peaks and unstable performance.
  • 8GB of RAM: If we try to run it with less RAM, it may work, but it will have problems with continuous loading, jerks and may suffer from frequent stops.
  • 4 GB of graphics memory: It should work with less, but it forces us to set very low quality and can cause cracking and texture loading issues.

Release date and platforms Dead Island 2 will arrive on

It is one of the most anticipated games of the year and after many delays its launch has finally been set for a year April 21, 2023 the date it will arrive on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PS4, PS5 and PC.

Everything looks like it won’t come with ray tracing, but it should have the main rescaling technologies that exist, NVIDIA’s DLSS 2 and AMD’s FSR 2, although it could be that since it’s an AMD “promoted” title, support be limited to FSR 2.
