The Model S fell 5% to $89,990 and the Model X fell 9% to $99,990.
The latest price cut is recorded as Tesla’s fifth adjustment since the beginning of the year.
In the past months, CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly stated that Tesla will focus on reducing prices to stimulate demand and that it has managed to increase orders thanks to the global discounts it implemented in January.
“People have an extremely strong desire to own a Tesla. The limiting factor is their ability to buy Tesla,” Musk said at the company’s investor day last week.
In January, Tesla lowered the prices of its cars in all its markets, offering discounts of up to 20%, which many analysts see as the start of a price war for the electric car market leader.
As Ukrinform reports, the American company Tesla is recalling 3,470 Model Y vehicles due to the loosening of the bolts securing the frames of the second-row backrests.
