Artificial intelligence has become one of Microsoft’s biggest strengths in achieving many innovation milestones in the short and medium term. We’ve already seen this with the new Bing, but for months we’ve been hearing rumors and leaks added to the company’s official announcements, which overall show that those in Redmond intend to make a lot out of its multibillion-dollar investment in OpenAI.
Already in the first days of January, we learned about Microsoft’s plans to use this technology in Office and Microsoft 365, and less than a month later, the company itself moved some of its plans in this regard. However, since we started to know more and more about the browser and Microsoft Edge, the rest of the plans along these lines seemed to be in the backgroundwhich is understandable considering the company’s work rate in this particular stake.
However, since the end of last month, there have been rumors that we will soon hear about Microsoft’s plans to bring artificial intelligence to other applications and productivity services, which also include the Office / Microsoft 365 family, commonly used between private and private. professional users. However, there has been no confirmation in this regard so far, so we are left waiting.
But we can already say that in the past tense, since Microsoft has confirmed that it will hold an artificial intelligence event on March 16. The confirmation was made on the company’s LinkedIn profile, in a publication in which we can read that the name of the event is “The Future of Work: Reinventing Productivity with AI» and that the event will be hosted by Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and Jared Spataro, the company’s vice president of work and business applications. The presence of the CEO undoubtedly indicates the importance the company attaches to this event.
Although the program of the event has not been announced, we can expect the first productivity applications to receive AI functions Microsoft Word and Outlook. In the first case, it certainly has to do with document writing assistance, which can be greatly improved with generative AI. In Outlook, we can expect functions such as automatic writing of replies, but also others such as the creation of message summaries. Whatever the case may be, we will be paying very close attention to this event and will keep you posted.
