Samsung begins developing next-generation “Galaxy” chip

In January, Apple launched the new MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and the M2-based Mac mini. Bloomberg News on Sunday reported that Apple is working to launch a series of new Mac computers this year based on the M3 next-generation 3-none technology. Qualcomm’s CEO acknowledged last week that Apple’s Macs and iDevices will remain stable in terms of power through 2024. New products based on new Orion (and/or other brand) processors will be introduced at CES 2024 by various hardware manufacturers with unknown delivery dates.

According to Geekbench results, Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro with A16 Bionic is 20% faster than Samsung’s latest Galaxy 23 Ultra. Apple continues to stand in the way of Qualcomm and Samsung processors, which disappointed Android smartphone fans. That frustration has spilled over to Samsung, which is reportedly looking to develop and launch next-generation processors to power its mobile devices and computers.

According to a new report from Korean Business, Samsung Electronics will resume the development of central processing unit (CPU) cores and enter the race to develop more advanced chips for smartphones and PCs. The Korean tech giant plans to reduce its reliance on ARM and take on Apple by installing its own processors on smartphones, tablets and laptops. Samsung Electronics recently formed an in-house team to develop the CPU cores. To lead the team, the company hired Rahul Tuli, a senior developer at AMD who manages CPU development projects.
