Samsung denies rumors of major changes to its flagship chipsets

Recent reports suggest that Samsung has assembled a new team to develop custom CPU cores for its in-house processors. However, Samsung has confirmed that these reports are untrue, saying that it already has several internal teams responsible for the development and optimization of the CPU, and they have for a long time.

Samsung is optimizing its own processors without creating a new CPU development team

Reports initially suggested that Samsung had hired a senior developer from AMD to lead the development of custom CPU cores for its in-house processors, with the first chipset with a custom core expected in 2027. Samsung is reportedly developing custom processors for its processors. Galaxy devices after abandoning internal Exynos processors due to poor performance.

While Samsung has confirmed that it has not set up a new CPU development team, it is constantly recruiting global talent from relevant industries to optimize its in-house processors. The idea behind developing custom CPU cores is to optimize the chipset for your devices in development, allowing for deeper hardware and software integration similar to Apple’s iPhone.

Samsung previously developed custom CPU cores for Exynos processors between 2016 and 2020. However, these chipsets were inferior compared to Qualcomm’s competing solutions using standard ARM cores. As a result, Samsung finally decided to use Qualcomm Snapdragon processors in its flagship devices.
