The WiFi 7 launch window is expected to occur sometime between 2023 and 2024. Therefore, although there is no official date, the first routers compatible with this technology are expected to hit the market by the end of next year.
At the end of 2022, TP-Link announced its first line of WiFi 7 routers with three models: Archer BE900 supporting up to 24Gbps; Archer GE800, gamer model; and Deco BE95, a Mesh version that supports up to 33Gbps.
ASUS also announced the WiFi 7 model during CES 2023, which is the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 with support for transfer rates up to 25Gbps. None of the templates are available yet.
Qualcomm has already confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is compatible with WiFi 7, but with support for data rates up to 20Gbps. Intel and MediaTek also promised news on the subject in 2023.
Their supported throughput ratings are still nearly 50% below the technology’s maximum potential, but still significantly higher than current models reaching 10Gbps.
