ABOUT Google announced at the end of last month that material design will be released for its online applications, and now it is gradually starting to be applied to users.

The visual novelty is redesign designed to make life easier for those who use the company’s tools.

There are some subtle changes, but they should make the user’s routine more dynamic. Check out the improvements coming to Google Docs, Sheets and Slides:

• A streamlined user interface at the top of your documents, spreadsheets, and slides helps users find the actions they use faster.
• Additional UI improvements for comments, backgrounds, rulers, and grid lines.
• Please note that while the functionality has not changed, some features have been moved to reduce clutter in the new interface. Notably, you can find the latest document status information such as last modified and version history through a single entry point: the clock icon in the top right corner.

Changes to the visual structure of Material Design will apply to other Google apps such as Drivein which you can see the changes below:

• Basic actions have become embedded in files for quick access and greater productivity;
• Ability to select multiple items at the same time and perform batch operations for frequent tasks;
• New search icons (including type, owner, and last modified) to help you find files faster.

The changes were made with a direct impact on end users and are designed to help them get their work done faster with planned design solutions for Google products. The changes began on March 6 and should reach everyone – users Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, Business and personal accounts – until March 22.
