Salesforce introduces the Hyperforce EU Operating Zone. This allows customers to choose to have their data stored and processed exclusively within the EU. As a cloud software provider, Salesforce relies on hyperscaler infrastructure. Since the introduction of the Hyperforce framework, Salesforce has not been tied to a specific cloud provider; the Salesforce cloud is platform-independent.
Hyperforce virtualizes the infrastructure that powers Salesforce Cloud to Code. This then makes it possible to roll out Salesforce everywhere. Customers can therefore choose whether their data is located in AWS, Azure or GCP.
However, choosing this or that cloud provider does not guarantee that the data will comply with the compliance rules in the EU. In principle, sensitive data should not simply leave the European Union. Cloud providers themselves meet these needs by creating different versions of sovereign clouds, or at least they do data residency to ensure. With the Hyperforce EU Operating Zone, Salesforce now offers similar guarantees from its software perspective.
The EU operating zone ensures that companies comply with data location rules across the board. Both in everyday work and in exceptional cases, data is stored and processed exclusively within the EU. Please note: Not everyone can use the Hyperforce EU Operating Zone yet, as the Hyperforce architecture itself is not yet available worldwide. Salesforce currently offers Hyperforce in the EU in Germany and France. Not all Salesforce apps currently work within the Hyperforce EU Operating Zone. Initially, Salesforce will provide compatibility for a number of Customer 360 applications that span multiple domains. Compatibility will be expanded in the future.
