KORT, affiliated to the Ukrainian Arms and Military Equipment Manufacturers’ Association, has developed a project for a new tracked infantry fighting vehicle “TUR”, which is superior to the Soviet BMP-1 and BMP-2. features.

BMP “TUR” is designed for transport of personnel of mechanized units of the ground forces and fire support in combat; The machine can operate in hot and cold climates, regardless of season and weather conditions. on roads with different surfaces, as well as in off-road conditions.

The crew of the BMP “TUR” consists of a commander, a driver-mechanic and a combat module operator, as well as a landing crew.

The “TUR” armament is planned to use the “Parus” and “Desna” combat modules equipped with 30 mm cannon, PKT machine gun, automatic grenade launcher and anti-tank missiles.

“Taking into account the main tasks, the proposed BMP will be able to effectively provide the following fire functions: suppression of infantry and anti-tank vehicles to defeat the enemy, destruction of enemy armored personnel carriers, BMPs and tanks”– commented on the development in the company.

When developing the BMP “TUR”, the combat experience of using the BMP-1 and BMP-2 was taken into account. The project is under review by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
