The UJ-22 Airborne drone, developed by the Ukrainian company Ukrjet, was first introduced at the arms fair in 2021. In flight, the UJ-22 Airborne can be controlled in automatic, semi-automatic and manual modes. The developers declare a maximum range of 800 km, meaning this drone can travel 1,600 km in one direction. And this is without the possibility of control from a ground station, which is limited to a 100 km mark.
Implementation of UJ-22 Airborne:
- reconnaissance – the UAV can carry a camera and an optoelectronic station;
- cargo transport – cargo weight 20 kg;
- shock missions – suspension of ammunition.
Communication between ground control center and aircraft over digital encrypted two-way UHF data transmission channel and digital two-way encrypted UHF data transmission channel.
The drone can fly at a speed of 140-200 km/h at an altitude of up to 6,000 meters and stay in the air for up to 14 hours. The complex is managed by two people – the pilot and the freight operator.
If the return of the drone is not planned, it can fly 1,600 km in one direction with a payload of up to 20 kg and attack any enemy target as a kamikaze drone.
Carbon fiber was used in the UJ-22 design, so the low-flying device is poorly visible to the ground-based EW.
Antenna communication system – automatic tracking with the provision of two independent duplicated transmission channels.
