In a future update, Microsoft wants to give more freedom again where the taskbar is placed. Little by little, the Windows 11 taskbar looks the way we are used to.
Left, right, top, bottom,… In Windows 10 you can place the taskbar where it suits you best. That changed with Windows 11, when Microsoft decided the taskbar should be bottom center and somewhere else. That appears to be changing: a leaked video shows how to bring the taskbar back to the top of your desktop in Windows 11.
This feature is currently in a preview build, which means Microsoft is planning to launch the feature, but we can’t predict when the feature will actually be available at this point. The video also doesn’t show whether you can place the taskbar on the left or right side. In any case, Microsoft leaves a little more freedom of choice on how you want to set up Windows 11.
The taskbar is perhaps one of the most talked about parts of Windows 11. Especially in the first versions, users were not satisfied with the new taskbar, which admittedly gave up a sleeker design but useful features. Microsoft didn’t ignore these criticisms and updated update after update restored the most requested taskbar functions such as the drag function and the task manager.
The last feature update for Windows 11 has been available since the end of February, one of several update moments that Microsoft plans to roll out for the operating system later this year. With the integration of Bing Chat, Windows 11 also gets a touch of AI, but you have to have your ticket for the public beta in your pocket. In addition, it is also possible to take video screen captures with the snipping tool.
