Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this Wednesday, as part of International Women’s Day, honored all those who gave their lives fighting for the country against the Russian invasion last year.

“Today it is important to express gratitude to all women who work, teach, study, save, treat and fight for Ukraine. Remember and thank all the women who gave their lives for our country,” Zelensky said.

In a speech full of references to the importance of mothers and wives in the idea of ​​a family, Zelensky thanked all the women who work with him, emphasizing the need for everyone to be “equal as partners.”

“Let’s be equal, let’s be free, let’s be a strong Ukraine,” said Zelenskiy, who called for strength to be “invincible” and defeat Russia in this war, which recently turned one year old.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin, referring to the “absolute value” of motherhood and, like Zelensky, appreciated the role that women will play so that “love, comfort and security” and harmony reign in the family core.
