Civil Guard under Operation ALIPAR being developed in Biscay, Spain, dismantled a criminal organization engaged in human trafficking (TS) for the purpose of sexual exploitation, in which 13 women were released, who were recruited and subjected to sexual exploitation against their will, and a total of seven people were detained.

According to the government delegation in the Basque Country, all the victims represented a situationand “extreme vulnerability”which facilitated recruitment in different countries of origin.

Since last Tuesday, three penetrations and searches have been carried out in the houses of the cities of Barakaldo, Bilbao, in the Zorroza and Fruis districts in Biscay, and so far they have not seven people were arrested

The investigation, led by the Bilbao Investigative Court No. 6, still openas indicated by the government delegation in the Basque Country.

Human trafficking in Mexico has increased by almost 70%, according to the UN.

The number of victims of human trafficking has increased by 67.3% in Mexico from 2020 to 2021, reported the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC, its English acronym).

UNODC launched the 2022 Global Report on Trafficking in Persons in the country, with findings showing an increase from 1,316 to 2,202 victims, according to official figures from the Mexican government.
