Those responsible for WhatsApp they are trying to improve the privacy offered by the messaging service (or so they suggest in the gallery). In addition to the introduction of end-to-end encryption in the past, it could happen in the near future self-destructive groups.
WhatsApp advanced the implementation of self-destructing messages over a year ago, so the application of this mechanism at the group level should not be too surprising. Apparently those responsible for the service are still working on implementing self-destructing groups in iOS beta branch of the appso, at least ostensibly, the door was left open for its deployment to be asymmetric with respect to operating systems, to reach iOS first and then Android.
The workings of alleged self-destructive WhatsApp groups are not difficult to guess. Group admins (WhatsApp users who have this role) will be able to create group conversations that will be automatically deleted after a set time or date. This brings benefits like freeing up space occupied by media that could be shared across the group and more control over privacy at least at the client level.
For now, this feature allows you to set an expiration date that can be long (one day, one week) or a specific date. The specified expiration date may be changed or removed at any time depending on the circumstances arising within the group itself.
At the moment, there is no deployment date via the stable branch of WhatsApp, so the most curious should download the beta branch of the iOS build. On the other hand, no details are yet known about its arrival on Android, which will certainly take place, but not necessarily at the same time as iOS.
