As you may remember, we told you yesterday that Google has already released its traditional puzzle to push back the date of Google I/O 2023. And as complicated as it is (although I’ve read some comments that this year’s was pretty simple), the tradition is in less than 24 hours the secret was revealed.

As you can already see on the puzzle page, which is also the event page, Google I/O 2023 will begin on Wednesday, May 10two months and two days from today, a period in which we’re sure to see countless rumors about what the company plans to announce in it.

We have to remember that Google I/O events are theoretically aimed at the developer community, but Google has also used it to make some very relevant announcements over the years. the most important event of the year among company events. It’s true that this year 2023 could be different in that sense, but the chances in that regard are low, so we can count on the search engine company to show off a large part of its arsenal this year during Google I/O 2023.

Yesterday we already did a first preview of what we hope to see at Google I/O 2023, but now that we know when it will start (though not when it will end, as it could be two or three days), we’re going to dig a little deeper along these lines and to try to anticipate what we hope will be the most important announcements of the event:

Bard (and other AI)

In general, the main protagonists of Google I/O are the Android versions of the year and Google devices, which will also be present in this edition (as we will see a little later). However, it is likely that the most famous announcement or announcement of this Google I/O 2023 is directly related to artificial intelligence. The most obvious choice in this regard is Bard, which begins private beta testing this March. And since Google seems to want to take some time to test it in depth, the two months we’re away from the event seems like a pretty adequate time frame for that purpose.

However, and as we’ve mentioned on more than one occasion, your competitors are gaining a big advantage in many areas (Internet search, browsers, integration into productivity tools, etc.), so if you want to excel in this area, you should be much more ambitious and don’t limit yourself to a chatbot for your browser.

Android 14

A few weeks ago, Google released the first beta version of Android 14 in a version aimed at developers. This fits perfectly with the usual release schedule of the operating system for Google devices, and is therefore another sign that we will see much of its news during Google I/O 2023. At the moment, we do not know much about this future iteration of the OS, but it is quite likely , that more data was leaked about her even before she came to the event.

Google Pixel 8

People will also not be surprised when the company introduces its next generation of Google Pixel smartphones i.e. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. From them, we’ve heard some rumors over the past few months that point to a significantly smaller screen on the Pixel. 8 than the Pixel 7, an important qualitative leap with the Tensor 3 SoC, 12 gigabytes of RAM, improved autonomy thanks to higher efficiency… come on, all the rumors point to an important qualitative leap in this generational change that could place them more prominently in the segment higher class. Google Pixel tablet

2023 could be the year that Google once again has its own tablet, a market that it already addressed in 2015 with its Pixel C, but hasn’t since 2020. There have been quite a few rumors in recent months, such as that it could be the first 64-bit Android device that aims to rival the iPad with its technical specifications, and it could be practically ready to go. Recall that the company already pushed it to its event last year, so it makes sense to expect it to make its debut at this Google I/O 2023.

Google Pixel Fold

A rumor that already has a tradition due to its age is the foldable Pixel in the style of the Galaxy Z Fold. Over time we’ve also seen (remember, based on rumors and anecdotal information) the project being activated, canceled, reactivated… come on, it’s been a real rollercoaster. Some renderings of its possible design surfaced last November, and if confirmed, the design will be most enticing. We will see if this is finally confirmed at this Google I/O 2023.
