Microsoft accused of hypocrisy over Windows 11

Microsoft engineers use the new Windows operating system on old computers. This was noticed by Twitter users.

On April 26, Microsoft launched a Windows Insider post showing OS updates. Enthusiasts noticed a page with the PC’s specifications during a demo of one of the developers’ computer screen. According to the video, Microsoft engineers are using an Intel Core i7-7660U-based device that is not officially on the list of supported Windows 11 processors.

“Unsupported CPU usage detected in Windows 11” wrote a user named AathifMahir. Some visitors to the site accused the company of hypocrisy, as Microsoft officially blocked the installation of the new operating system on old equipment, thereby preventing users from receiving updates. “Just kidding aside, this moment proves that they also think they have requirements for the processor – dog crap” – said the blogger nicknamed Chris123NT.

Windows 11 does not officially support eighth-generation Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen 2000 and 3000G chips. Also, the operating system requires a secure Trusted Platform Module.
