Whatsapp is working on a new feature that should gradually appear in the users app. The WaBetaInfo portal reported that the company is testing a feature that automatically deletes a group after a certain period of time which will be determined by the administrator. We are currently testing on iOS phones.

Although the idea seems strange at first glance, it is possible to imagine a number of functionalities of the resource being tested. Among them is the ability to create a group for a given event and know that it will be deleted soon after, leaving the list of conversations filled with old and inactive groups.

This means that users no longer need to leave groups manually.. By deleting a group on its own, it helps people who want to save space on all the media that have already been posted to that group at some point and would like to free up space on their mobile.

According to the website, WhatsApp is working on implementing a number of different options for how long a group will be deleted. Currently, you can set the expiration date to one day, one week, or a custom date. In addition, of course, there is still the opportunity to remove this role and leave the group forever.

This feature does not yet have an official release date on the apps.

Unfortunately, only users with iOS devices can test the new Whatsapp feature. However, it is possible that Android devices will also start receiving this feature within the next few weeks.

As is the case with a number of features that are being tested on the app before the official launch, it is possible that a feature that can automatically remove groups will still take some time to officially appear. It is because of this that there is no release date or forecast for cell phones.
