Sensor Tower analysts once again targeted the mobile app market. Experts decided to find out which products virtual sector iOS and Android users downloaded the most in 2022. And the results were interesting enough to share with you.

To start with the total number of downloads. In the first quarter of this year, users downloaded 28.3 billion different applications from Google Play, in the AppStore the results are more modest – 8.6 billion. TikTok was the most popular application on both platforms, followed by social networks Instagram and Facebook. And Facebook and Telegram messengers close the top five.

Analysts chose mobile games in a separate category with their own ratings. And here Garena Free Fire is the leader – a royal battle in the style of PUBG Mobile. In second place – runner Subway Surfers, in third place – Merge Master puzzle. Well, PUBG Mobile was only ranked sixth. While it’s far from falling in super popularity until recently, it’s Among Us that immediately dropped to 20th place.

The overall trend is that people download more mobile apps every year. In the first quarter of 2022, users downloaded a total of 36.9 billion apps, for comparison, last year’s result was 1.4% lower.
