Facebook is once again integrating Messenger into the app

Today (March 9, 2023), Facebook announced that it will use artificial intelligence to improve the user experience and create new opportunities for content creators. But other than that, the big new change is that Messenger is finally back to its original app.

The social media giant recently announced that it has reached 2 billion daily active users and plans to launch new “Creative Expression” tools for Facebook users to create 90-second videos. While all of this opens up more opportunities for creators, the news I’m personally looking forward to is the Messenger app’s reintegration into Facebook. For those who don’t know, the tech giant dedicated its inbox section to a dedicated app a few years ago.

This decision caused a lot of criticism. But now Facebook plans to make things more intuitive by allowing users to access their Messenger inbox. According to official reports, more than 140 billion messages are sent every day through Facebook apps. The number of people sharing reels has also exceeded the 1 billion mark in Instagram DMs and is increasing rapidly on Facebook.

That’s why the company is testing the ability for people to access the “Inbox” folder in the Messenger program and plans to expand this testing phase. In other words, the social media platform plans to offer more ways to integrate messaging features into the platform to make it easier for users to communicate and share with each other.
