Counterpoint Technology Market Research analyzed the balance of power in the Chinese smartphone market in the first quarter of this year. Demand for smart mobile phones has decreased.

Including the January-March period, smartphone sales in China are estimated to have decreased by 14% to the level observed in early 2020 in the face of severe restrictions related to the pandemic. About 74.2 million vehicles were sold in China in the first quarter of 2022.

Vivo became the largest player in the Chinese smartphone market: the company’s share was 19.7%. Oppo ranks second with 18.0%, closing the top three Apples with 17.9%.

Analysts state that the highest growth rate shows the Honor brand, which is in fourth place. During the year, its share increased from 5.5% to 16.9%. Thus, the demand for Honor devices increased by 166.8 percent.

This is followed by Xiaomi, which occupied 14.9% of the domestic market with 15.2% the previous year. Huawei’s share fell from 15.0% to 6.2% during the year. The rating also included Realme with a score of 2.6%.
