Strikes declared in France against pension reform will force you to cancel 20% of flights scheduled this weekend at some of the country’s main airports, including Paris OrlyThis was announced today by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (GUGA).
Airlines must cancel a fifth of their scheduled program this Saturday at Orly, Marseille, Nantes, Toulouse and Bordeaux.

The remaining flights will be covered by minimum services, the DGAC said in a statement.
On Sunday the 12th, the impact of the shutdowns will be less as the 20% reduction will only affect Orly, Marseille and Toulouse airports.
It also means less impact than in recent days, with 20% of flights from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, the country’s largest, and thirty% from Orly, Beauvais, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Marseille, Montpellier, Nice and Toulouse.
DGAC indicated that in addition to preventive cancellations, disruptions and delays are not excluded, therefore it suggests that passengers who may be able to postpone their trips and check with their airlines about the situation with their flights.
The protests come after the French Senate on March 8 approved a key article of a draft pension reform that raises the minimum retirement age from 62 to 64.
In response, the unions set the next two days of protests for Saturday, March 11, and the next day, March 15.

French lawmakers approved Article 7, which pushes back the retirement age, with 201 votes in favor and 115 votes against, BFMTV reported.
