It’s another very interesting week for the artificial intelligence enthusiast. After Salesforce introduced Einstein GPT on Tuesday, ThoughtSpot now offers GPT3 integration for its data visualization platform. The integration, which will be called ThoughtSpot Sage, is designed to help users of the software find relevant data in their databases faster by converting natural language into visual data.
GPT3 integration comes in the form of a search function. For example, you can say in natural language what your top-selling products were for the month of February. ThoughtSpot then looks up the right data in any database it has access to and instantly converts the information into bite-sized graphics. So you have the right data in no time at all.
CEO Sudseesh Nair tells TechCrunch that ThoughtSpot isn’t just blindly jumping on the hype. The data company has been working on such a feature for several years. ThoughtSpot even considered developing its own AI language model for this. But with the help of OpenAI, which offers the GPT3 language model as a (paid) API, it can now accelerate the rollout of the feature.
ThoughtSpot says it tinkered with the language model to keep accuracy as high as possible. ChatGPT is wrong sometimes, and with data analysis, you as a company don’t want to be faced with wrong data. For this reason, ThoughtSpot is initially opening the integration in beta form, where it will also actively seek feedback from testers.
ThoughtSpot is one of the better-known platforms for data visualization, alongside Microsoft BI and Tableau. Last year, we were presented with the unique vision that the company plans to use to storm the market. Does your company use ThoughtSpot or any other software?
