American automaker Ford plans to cut 1,100 jobs at a factory in Valencia, eastern Spain.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.

“Ford will work constructively with union partners to reduce the impact of the layoffs on employees, their families and the local community,” a company spokesperson said.

According to him, the layoffs are due to the decrease in car production in Europe. Ford has decided to stop assembly of Galaxy minivans and S-Max station wagons in Valencia.

Last year, the automaker announced that it was delaying production investments in Spain. At the same time, it was reported that the company will start producing electric cars after 2030 at its factory in Spain.

As reported by Ukrinform, American automaker Ford Motor Company will optimize its workforce in continental Europe with 3,800 employees over the next three years.
