Cheer up these days to be able to talk about Netflix without it being related to hacking shared accountsits price is falling in different regions and in general everything related to the storm in which the dean of streaming services has been living since the beginning of last year, when its numbers were quite horror, which forced the company to take enough measures aimed at trying to stop the bleeding that threatened their future.
Since then, and of course apart from the content, Netflix has hardly generated news regarding changes and improvements in the service, which is very surprising because a field in which the service has always tried to positively excel. And not only by their frequency, but also by the care that they traditionally devote to every change, even the smallest, something that was very well illustrated by the case of the two-inch.
One of the points that the company wants to focus on for a long time is accessibility, i.e. functions aimed at improving the user experience for people with various types of disabilities. In this regard, there were some interesting announcements in May last year. And that’s why, in truth, the news we’re talking about today seems like very good news to me, but I’m surprised it took so long.
The news is that, as we can read in TechCrunch, Netflix now allows you to edit the text of the subtitles. The company has not officially announced it, but the deployment of this feature to a large number of regions has already been activated, and therefore it is indicated in the said publication, which makes us understand that its global reach is only a matter of days (who knows, maybe even hours).
With this change, Netflix users will be able to customize the size and style of subtitles when accessing the service directly from the app on their TV. This update lets you choose from three sizes (small, medium, and large) and four color formats: default white text, Drop Shadow (white text on a black background), Light (black text on a white background), and Contrast (yellow text with black background).
It’s surprising, I say, that it’s taken this long to arrive because Netflix has for a long time allowed adjustments to be made in the subtitle view, in its apps, and on the web. For example, here we will tell you how to edit them, along with other interesting tricks for the platform.
