UGCA 307 is located about 26 million light-years from our planet.
The dwarf galaxy itself consists of a diffuse band of stars containing red gas bubbles that mark regions of recent star formation.

This image is said to be part of Hubble’s project to search for all known nearby galaxies and gives astronomers an opportunity to understand the galactic neighborhood of Earth.
Prior to this observation of UGCA 307, about three-quarters of the nearest galaxies had been studied by Hubble in sufficient detail to identify the brightest stars and gain insight into the stars inhabiting each galaxy.
Raven is a constellation of the southern hemisphere of the starry sky, located between the constellations Virgo and Hydra. The best viewing conditions from the territory of Ukraine are in April-May.
As reported by Ukrinform, the NASA/ESA Hubble space telescope photographed the irregular spiral galaxy NGC 5486 in the constellation Ursa Major.
