Gigabyte renews its laptops for creative professionals. Both the Aero 14 and the larger Aero 16 are getting an update.
Gigabyte installs the latest processors from Intel in its laptops. Both the Gigabyte Aero 14 and Aero 16 are now equipped with 13th generation Core CPUs (Raptor Lake). Gigabyte also relies on new internals on the GPU side. For example, you can now configure the devices with RTX 40 GPUs. Gigabyte receives the Nvidia Studio seal of approval for this.
Both devices are available with OLED panels that are factory calibrated according to Gigabyte. According to the manufacturer, the DeltaE value is below one ex works: a strong claim. If this number doesn’t mean anything to you, you know that DeltaE is the difference between the displayed color and the true color, and any value between the two is considered very true color.
The screen has to be the capital of these laptops. You therefore get 2.8K pixels with HDR 600 support. The DCI-P3 color landscape is 100 percent supported. Like many other manufacturers, Gigabyte uses a handy 16:10 aspect ratio. We’ve read that the screen will receive eye protection and blue light certification, so we’d like to point out that the current scientific consensus is that it’s quackery.
Gigabyte is still struggling with Pantone validation. It is not immediately clear what the added value of this is. Pantone appears to have successfully launched a branded business. Previously, we also saw a collaboration between the color specialist and Motorola.
The laptops are aimed entirely at creative people, but are also impressive. Gigabyte points out that the Aero 14 Oled weighs 1.49 kg, which is quite modest for a powerful laptop.
The two devices should be available immediately, but we haven’t found any links to Belgian distributors who offer the notebook on the Gigabyte website. We don’t know a current non-binding price recommendation, but we still calculate with approx. 1,700 euros incl. VAT as a target price, depending on the selected configuration, of course.
