Four out of five mobile subscriptions now receive more data. The most expensive package at 29 euros per month even gets 70 GB.

Many subscribers received an email from Mobile Vikings today informing them that data plans are being adjusted. Almost every formula gets more data without increasing the price. Only the subscription with 10 GB of data remains unchanged. The overview now looks like this:

Other things like airtime and unlimited messages stay the same. A unique feature of the EUR 29 subscription is the option to continue surfing free of charge at a reduced speed of 512 Kbit/s. For the rest, you need to buy additional data.

New rules on the term “unlimited internet” have been in effect since mid-2022. Mobile phone providers are only allowed to speak of unlimited formulas from 300 GB. For landlines, the rule applies from 3 TB.

Mobile Vikings uses the Proximus network. The latter also offers a 5G option in its subscriptions. Whether Mobile Vikings will offer a 5G option in the near future is currently unclear.

It already offers fixed-line internet today via Proximus, but the telecoms provider recently announced that it intends to use Fiberklaar’s fiber optic infrastructure to expand its offering. In the long term it will be possible to enter the fixed-line Internet market completely independently.
