In November 2022, an undercover agent told Rodriguez Hilario that his associates in Mexico were “fighting and losing” and needed to buy more firearms.

And in March 2023, Rodriguez Hilario ordered agents to supply 40 AM-15 multi-caliber assault rifles.

Saleh, who had bought and assembled parts to make firearms, arrived for a meeting with Rodriguez Hilario and agents.

After an undercover agent inspected one of the crates of firearms, the statement said, both Rodriguez Hilario and Saleh were arrested.

Interrogations after arrest both confessed to dealing in firearms.
