Anyone who uses Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) as an organization will soon have to reckon with a more expensive bill. New customers are immediately subject to the higher prices. These are the new prices (excluding VAT) that Google is using from now on:

Existing subscribers will also feel the price increase. If you have just signed an annual contract, you can still enjoy the old prices until the end of the contract. Annual contracts are billed monthly, so don’t think you’re in a monthly process. Check when your annual contract renews to make sure.

Those who pay monthly without an annual contract will be billed for the price increase sometime between April and the end of the year. Google doesn’t advertise transparently when it’s your turn.

The search giant says organizations with ten licenses or fewer will not be subject to the new pricing until January 2024. Google gives small businesses extra time to prepare.

New AI elements in the future

Google doesn’t give a specific reason why the Workspace plans are more expensive. Since the Google Cloud division isn’t profitable just yet, we suspect this is a step in the right direction for the search giant. On top of that, you can count on the AI ​​elements that Google recently announced require additional computing power, which also has to be paid for.
