Dell sees more opportunities in its cybersecurity solutions. In a no-door presentation, we hear multiple experts discuss how the attack surface has increased, security is a priority, and complexity is not good. Dell will eliminate complexity, including adding a bit more complexity to its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offerings.

pen testing and more

Finally, the MDR solution gets a new touch: MDR Pro Plus. As part of Dell’s current MDR offerings, organizations can sign up to continuously monitor their IT environment for threats, proactively identify emerging threats using threat intelligence available at Dell, and receive rapid remediation assistance. Within the MDR Pro Plus offering there is room for attack simulation and frequent penetration testing. This offer also includes training courses to raise employee awareness. That’s a good thing, because overzealous employees are traditionally a weak link in the security chain.

Dell now also ensures that experts can help an affected company within two hours of a cyber attack. This capacity falls under the name of Incident Recovery Care but is not immediately available in Belgium. MDR Pro Plus is now available worldwide.

Crowd strike by Dell

In addition, Dell announces that it is expanding the SafeGuard and Response portfolio to give customers more security choices. That’s a fancy way of saying Dell is essentially becoming a Crowdstrike reseller. Businesses that rely on Dell for their security can now choose CrowdStrike Falcon.

What if malicious individuals plan to intercept the beautiful Dell laptops you ordered somewhere in transit and silently make hardware adjustments to open a loophole in your business? Then you have Secure component verification in the cloud necessary.

hardware authentication

If you sign up for this solution, Dell will generate a digital certificate when your laptop leaves the production line. This certificate ends up in the cloud. When the laptop arrives at your IT department, its integrity is checked against the cloud certificate. The solution is scalable, meaning IT can check the integrity of an entire fleet of laptops with one click. Worried about super hackers lurking in the supply chain? Then don’t order until May, when this offer is available worldwide.
