At the beginning of December, Xiaomi confirmed that it will release the MIUI 14 update for the Mi 10 series. A few days later, the company also announced that the update will be based on Android 13 for Vanilla and Pro models. Two months later, in February, a Chinese certification body announced that even Mi 10 Lite will receive the MIUI 14 update. A month later, the Xiaomi boss officially tells us the system update status for these phones.

Zhang Guoquan is the director of Xiaomi’s mobile phone system software department. Earlier today, he announced on Weibo that the MIUI 14 update for the Mi 10 series will be available this week. He also mentioned that testing of software builds will begin next week. Therefore, we can expect the company to release the update to closed beta testers in China soon. According to the certificate, the update will be generally available in early April.

For those who don’t know, MIUI 14 is the third major MIUI update for these smartphones. All three debuted with Android 10-based MIUI 11. The MIUI 14 update for Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will also bring Android 13. So they will get the Android update as well. On the other hand, it is unknown whether the latest MUI update will upgrade the Android version for the Mi 10 Lite.
