Now you can try the new Bing without waiting

Microsoft continues to test the new Bing, which is understandable given that there is still a lot to work on and that changes are also made daily, both in the artificial intelligence model it uses and, as we told you yesterday, it is based on GPT- 4, as well as in its functions. The last in this regard is the one The number of messages per conversation has already increased to 15, which is a clear sign that the company’s plans are to enable much longer conversations. In this regard, it should be recalled that when it was launched, it did not have a limit in this regard, but after the identification of some problems, it was limited to a strict limit of only five, which has been increasing since then. .

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Microsoft, as well as OpenAI, has managed to gain quite a head start on Google, which has already announced both Bard and the integration of new AI-based features into Docs and Gmail, but in both cases only to a small group of users, trusted testers and no date (at least public) of its arrival to regular userseven though it’s in beta, with all the implications that entails.

On the day of the new Bing announcement, Microsoft opened a waiting list and the first invitations started arriving less than a week after the announcement. Since then, this system has been maintained to access the service, with an indefinite waiting period that yes, it was possible to speed it up by following Microsoft’s recommendations for this purpose.

Now you can try the new Bing without waiting

As I said, you still need to get on the waiting list to try out the new Bing, which you can do by clicking this link, but for a few hours, after clicking the button to sign up for the new Bing test program, we will immediately get access. I did a test with two Microsoft accounts that didn’t have access and weren’t registered in the previous list, and I had access to the chatbot in both at that point.

This is a very bold move by Microsoft. It is true that at the moment it continues to restrict access to it for Microsoft Edge (although we will tell you how to bypass this restriction here), but given the huge interest that the new Bing managed to arouse, we can expect its use to grow in the volume of users in a more than substantial way, at a time when many more people will want to try it because it is based on GPT-4.

So if you’ve been curious about the new Bing and/or GPT-4, but for whatever reason didn’t get on the waiting list, the good news is that you can access it immediately. Of course, as we predicted yesterday, at least for now the chatbot does not have all the features of the new OpenAI model, such as the ability to perform queries combining text and images. However, seeing how heavily Microsoft has invested in its new search engine, who knows? It shouldn’t be too long before we see this feature integrated in some way as well.
