GoRetroid company announced the portable game console Retroid Pocket Flip. The Retroid Pocket Flip is inspired by the Nintendo DS and features a clamshell design that will be available in multiple colors. The latest member of the Retroid family of portables, the Retroid Pocket Flip is very similar to the Nintendo DS Lite. The Nintendo DS is one of the most popular gaming handhelds ever released.
The Retroid Pocket Flip is slightly thicker than the DS Lite, measuring 139 x 82 x 25.4mm. On the back of the device is a standard set of buttons, as well as trigger buttons. Buttons include four-way buttons, a control pad, two center buttons, and two flat joysticks. In addition to the trigger buttons (L2 and R2) there are two shoulder buttons (L1 and R1).
The Retroid Pocket Flip’s joysticks appear on the surface and will likely work similarly to the Nintendo DS’s slider joysticks. Connectivity options for PDAs include USB-C, a headphone jack, and a micro-HDMI port. The PDA will also have microSD card slots.
The PDA’s full hardware specs have yet to be released, as the company says it will reveal those details this week. The model should at least have features similar to or better than Retroid 3+. Retroid 3+ can emulate several PlayStation 2 games and most GameCube games. Pocket Flip will be available in five color options, but its release date remains a mystery.
