IZMIR (IGFA) – On the third day of the Second Century Economics Congress, Boğaziçi Assistant Professor Prof. Dr. Cem Say gave a speech titled “To be or not to be a science society”.
Say computer engineers are now making the revolutions and said, “In the era we live in, computer engineers are changing the world. All living things and our bodies are formed by the assembly of proteins. Thanks to machine learning technology, computers know the shape of all two hundred million proteins known to mankind. It will be released in 2-3 years and many things will change in the world. “If a human could do it, the Nobel Prize would be awarded, but the computer did it,” he said .
Educating about new computer programs and artificial intelligence technologies, prof. dr. Say: “You may think of the question that some people are being robbed of their jobs because of these programs, but we will shape our future here at the Second Century Economics Congress. In short , major sectors and business units will be hit from A to Z and there will be serious rifts between people who know and those who don’t. So where is Turkey in the event? Boğaziçi students created brands such as ‘Yemek Sepeti’, game company “Peak” and “Getir”. The main point that distinguishes us from abroad in technology is access restriction. If “Ekşi Sözlük” was founded in America, it would have been Facebook because it was founded before Facebook, but it was decided close it in Turkey it is blocked Turkey has a choice but will we be a scientific society and do what the science says or do we the other way around? The choice is in our hands,” he said.
