Dubai Customs Service (United Arab Emirates) demonstrated a robot dolphin helping the ministry protect the country’s borders.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Alarabiya News.

The Dubai Customs Dolphin is a marine robot equipped with advanced technology, including a waterproof 12 megapixel 4k camera shaped like a dolphin and attached to a “robotic arm” that can move at an angle of 220 degrees.

The device can swim at a speed of 16 km per hour, record real-time video and take high-resolution photos.

It can also scan for specific locations underwater using GPS. The radius of control and flow is about 1,000 meters.

Inspectors can remotely control customs “dolphins” and send them to monitor sea vessels and their movements before they enter port.

This technology allows customs officers to detect attempts by ships to dispose of prohibited goods before they enter the inspection berth.

“One of Dubai Customs’ greatest strengths is the culture we have created here. Khalid Al-Zaruni, Head of Innovation at Dubai Customs, said: “A culture of innovation and a culture of motivation where we always encourage our employees of all levels and nationalities to present their ideas for improvement, development ideas, innovative ideas.”

As reported by Ukrinform, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) based Emirates airline introduced a portable robot for passenger registration.
