WhatsApp is finally developing one of the most anticipated functions for years: simultaneous use on two mobile phones

One of the biggest problems WhatsApp has is, impossible to use the same account on two mobile phones at the same time. Despite having standalone multi-device support for a while, this system was designed to use WhatsApp on PC or desktop app, but not on mobile phones. However, this situation seems close to change.

This was discovered by the well-known WhatsApp feature leaker WabetaInfo in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (2.22.10.13). In this new version, a function that allows has appeared. register a device as a companion and this way use WhatsApp on two mobiles at the same time. And even the door has been opened for the use of WhatsApp on tablets.

An expanded functionality in Telegram (apparently) coming to WhatsApp as well

As we can see in the screenshot provided by WaBetaInfo, the section is called “Register device as partner” and it will appear. when we try to log into our WhatsApp account on a secondary mobile device. It seems that to install Whatsapp it will be enough to scan the QR displayed on the secondary device using the main device.

This can be useful, for example, if we have a daily cell phone and a “battle” cell phone that we use when we are going to do an activity (festivals, concerts, climbing) that could pose a risk to the host device. … ). This function allows both devices have WhatsApp all at once, without having to exit the main session.

What is not clear is whether it will be possible to use WhatsApp on two mobile phones, one is an iPhone and the other is an Android mobile. the interesting thing is Door opened so we can use WhatsApp on tabletsomething that is currently possible, but somewhat primitive.

In any case, still a feature in development with no release date. We’ll have to wait for more news. Its clearest competitor, Telegram, has long had multi-device support thanks to its cloud-based operation.
