Anyone who uses the Microsoft 365 app frequently on their Android device now has an extra tab with current documents.
Microsoft 365 App for Android has received an update where you now have an additional tab with “Recents” at the top. This seems like a minor update, but it’s not at all. Previously, if you opened something with the app, you couldn’t find it afterwards unless it was a new document.
Instead of searching by name, you can now instantly find what you last opened with just a glance at the new tab. You can use the feature with both a business subscription and a personal Microsoft 365 subscription.
The new tab doesn’t only work for documents that you open in the app itself. External apps like WhatsApp, Gmail or Outlook are also compatible and appear in the list regardless of whether they are in your OneDrive storage or not.
The update is currently being rolled out to all devices. In the editorial office we can already see the new tab with our business account.
Last week OpenAI’s GPT-4 was in the news with the introduction of the new AI model. Microsoft immediately got involved with Microsoft 365 Copilot, an AI assistant within the Office suite. It is not yet clear when the smart new functions will be rolled out to the general public.
