Current CEO of Ordina, Jo Maes, will be responsible for the combined Benelux region.

The French IT service provider Sopra Steria continues to grow strongly in Europe through acquisitions. Last year, Tobiana took it upon himself to gain a foothold in Flanders. At that time, the Belux region had two managers: Tobania CEO Lode Peeters on the Flemish side and Michel Lorgeré, CEO of Sopra Steria Benelux on the Walloon side.

With the acquisition of Ordina, Sopra Steria announces that Jo Maes, CEO of Ordina, will be responsible for the combined Benelux region. After the takeover, an integration committee will be set up with Lorgeré to ensure a smooth transition. It is currently unclear what role Peeters will play.

Sopra Steria will pay EUR 5.75 per share for all Ordina shares. That’s 36 percent higher than the closing price on March 14 and 43 percent higher than the average price for the past three months. In total, Sopra Steria will pay approximately €518 million in cash to complete the acquisition.
