WhatsApp, the main messaging app used by Brazilians, is unstable and down this Thursday afternoon (28). The cause of the crash is still unknown, but there are messages on social networks from users from different parts of the world, indicating difficulties in accessing the service.

The website Downdetector, which records crashes and instability of major online services, indicates that the problem started around 5:40 pm. [horário de Brasília].

To date, Meta, the company responsible for the service, has not commented on the matter. It has not yet been announced when the service will be fully restored. As soon as we have more information about the issue, we will update this post.
