MMD is launching a new portable 16-inch monitor under the name Philips 16B1P3302D. The compact, thin screen does not support touch functionality and has a Full HD resolution (75 Hz). MMD uses a traditional 16:9 screen ratio, which is convenient for media consumption. Business devices have recently been moving towards 16:10 or even 3:2 to get more room at height for more productive work.
The Philips 16B1P3302D has two USB-C ports. One of them supplies power to the monitor, the second is used to connect peripherals. If you are connecting a laptop that only has one USB-C port, you can use the second one on the monitor to connect the power cord to power the monitor and laptop. There is also space for a jack socket to connect headphones.
The portable monitor can handle up to 90 watts of power and connect up to 65 watts to a laptop for charging. That’s more than enough for most compact laptops. Busy workstation owners need more and better connect an additional charging source directly to the device.
The rear connectors are incorporated into a base, allowing you to position the portable display at an angle between 0 and 90 degrees. According to MMD, the screen consumes an average of 4.4 watts in Eco mode. According to the EnergyStar test method, 6.2 watts are measured, which is still little. The screen weighs 1.03 kg.
The Philips 16B1P3302D is available now and has a recommended retail price of 279 euros (incl. VAT). A protective cover is included in the box for safe mobile use of the screen.
