It was noted that Bard could access the most up-to-date information on the internet. The chatbot has a “Google it” button that opens a search.

Google’s chatbot also checks for the accuracy of sources like Wikipedia.

However, Google warned that Bard would have “limitations”, adding that the chatbot could spread misinformation and reflect bias.

This is because the bot “learns” from real-world information where such biases exist. Therefore, stereotypical and incorrect information may appear in the answers to user questions.

The Bard version is initially launching in the US and UK.

Users will need to register to start using the new chatbot.

Bard is a descendant of Google’s previous language model called Lamda, which was never made public.

Jack Krawczyk, senior product director at Google, said the Bard was an “experiment” and he hoped people would use it as “a launchpad for creativity.”
