The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 will get an even bigger battery than its predecessors, surpassing its own peak of 8000 mAh. The base Li-On model will have a capacity of 8160 mAh, which should alternate between 8400 mAh and 8500 mAh. It is listed by Samsung SDI as EB-BX716ABY and is designed to work with the SM-X71x (Tab S9 series).

The Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S8 models used 7760 mAh batteries, which is a typical 8000 mAh capacity. The information is also consistent with what has been leaked from Samsung’s own entry on China’s CQC cataloging body. In addition to a reinforced battery, the tablet will also have IP67 water and dust resistance, the first thing the company has applied using this certification.

Rumors also indicate that the entire Galaxy Tab S9 series will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip under the “for Galaxy” seal, the same one used in the Samsung Galaxy S23 line of mobile phones.

Despite the revelation about its power, apparently this series will only be featured in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9. At the time of this writing, there are no records of its use on the Tab S9 Ultra or S9+.
