Over the last few weeks, we’ve been telling you about the many new features it has implemented in the app to make our experience with WhatsApp much more complete. But, There are many more features to come and one that has yet to come is the use of 3D avatars for our video calls, as we’ve learned thanks to our colleagues at Xataka Móvil.
Although not officially available yet, It looks like it will be implemented in the app very soon and we already know some details about how it will work. So, if you don’t want to show up on a video call, have peace of mind as your 3D avatar will do it for you.
Our 3D Avatar will be the face in WhatsApp video calls
It is true that the possibility of implementing this new tool was said a few months ago, but now it seems closer than ever. Truth be told, 3D avatars needed such functions to improve their use, because until now we could only use them to create a profile picture or a new personalized sticker pack.
Also, an interesting thing found, we have an option called “face and hand effects”a configuration that we can only enable as long as we accept it As per Meta’s privacy policy, you must be able to record certain parts of your face. For now, it is unknown what this option will be used for, so we have to wait for it to become official.
On the other hand, let’s say that the integration of this functionality into the interface will be as we expect, namely, a button will be shown at the bottom of the screen when making a video call this will allow us to switch between the view of the front camera or our personal 3D avatar.
Now There is no official confirmation from WhatsApp itself as to when we will make this tool available.but what seems clear is that sooner or later we will have it to use it whenever we want.
