New developer update Windows 11 improves system startup. Titled update Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23419, also adds a USB4 settings page and makes changes to the task manager. To download the new update, simply go to the Microsoft website and download the ISO image.

According to Microsoft, the system startup improvement was achieved by reducing the performance impact of applications automatically launched after Windows starts. This update is primarily intended for developers and users who want a fast and efficient work environment.

Also new is the addition of a USB4 settings page found under Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > USB > USB4 Hubs & Devices. USB4 is a technology that enables new performance scenarios for high performance connectivity, high resolution display and fast device charging. A new settings page allows users to view information about USB4 system capabilities and connected devices.

What’s New in Task Manager

The update also makes changes to the Task Manager, which now allows developers to capture and collect kernel memory dumps in real time. This new functionality is especially useful for troubleshooting unusual situations that may arise during software development.

To access this new feature, the user must go to the details page of the task manager and right-click on the system process. A context menu will appear offering the option to create kernel memory dumps. These dumps are stored in a fixed location on the user’s disk.

With these updates, Microsoft continues its efforts to provide developers with an efficient and reliable work environment. Windows 11 users can expect even more in future OS updates.
