Google reveals a way to remove personal information from search

The Internet, as you know, remembers everything. And if there is any information on the network, it becomes very difficult to delete it from there. But Google is ready to help – the company is expanding the list of personal data that can be removed from the search engine at the request of the owner. Previously, Google only removed information that could be used for financial fraud: bank card numbers, photo documents, personal signatures, etc. You can now clear an even wider range of data.

Here is the list of what can be excluded from the search:

  • contact information such as address, phone number or email address;
  • secret identification numbers of the state standard;
  • bank account numbers;
  • credit card numbers;
  • images of handwritten signatures;
  • images of identity documents;
  • personal, confidential and official records such as medical records;
  • personal contact information (physical addresses, phone numbers and email addresses);
  • confidential identification information.

On request, Google may also remove privy images, pornographic footnotes, or Photoshop that uses human likeness.

How do I delete data in Google search?

  1. Request removal of personal information in this way format .
  2. Specify exactly where you want to delete information: only on search or websites.
  3. Google will offer two options: remove the web page completely from search or delete the images posted on it.
  4. To delete a web page, you must specify its URL.
  5. To delete an image, you must first find the image in Google Images, then copy the URL and add it to your query.

If you select “Delete information in search results or website” and you’re asked if you’ve contacted the site’s webmaster, “No. How do I do that?” Google will provide more detailed instructions.

If you choose other response options (“Yes” or “No, I don’t want to do this”), you must specify what information will be deleted. Next, fill in the fields of the query created based on the previous answer.

You will receive an automatic confirmation when you request an email. The request will be evaluated and a message will be sent to the post office with the result. The content will be removed or an explanation will be sent as to why the request does not meet the requirements.

If moderators believe that information posted on the network is legal, socially important, professionally important, or news information, they can reject it. But despite all the warnings, the Google initiative is certainly worthwhile – it will hit sites with phone numbers and personal data trading “breakthroughs”.
