Have you ever wanted to have an account like whatsapp/whatsapp network on more than one machine? This is already possible, but the messages are not synced if the internet connection is not mutual. However, this issue should end with new multi-device support.
Leaks posted by WABetaInfo have revealed a new option to register a device as an “add-on” in Android messenger beta 2.22.10.10.13, which, of course, is not yet available to all users.
According to the information provided, the parity between several devices will work in the way already known and used in today’s system – by scanning a QR code on the main mobile phone. The novelty of the update will be the rejection of the mutual connection to the Internet for message synchronization, and not for each device.
In the image below, you can see the “Register device as a companion” section, which in Portuguese will be “Register device as an add-on” – an option not yet available in the current version of the application.

A new version of Whatsapp with updated multi-device support has been in development since 2021 and the company has no date or confirmation on when it will hit all users’ phones. So far, the information comes only with leaks.
Controversy surrounding the Community resource continues to flare up
Last week, the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) asked the messenger for information about the postponement of the “Communities” tool, which will feature “megagroups” on various specific topics, to 2023. The change will allow administrators to unite ten groups under this “direction” and, in practice, increase the number of participants by the same dozen times.
In a letter sent to those responsible for the application, the agency mentioned the invasion of the US Capitol, which occurred after the 2020 presidential election, when supporters of Donald Trump protested the victory of Joe Biden. According to the manifesto, something similar could happen in the 2022 Brazilian presidential race due to the influx of messages.
Continuation after commercial
The launch of “comunidades” has attracted the attention of several Brazilian authorities fearful of the massive spread of fake news. Whatsapp has already spoken out on the matter and stated that it will only launch the tool for Brazilians after this year’s general elections, in agreement with the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE). The decision was criticized by President Jair Bolsonaro, who accused it of interfering with free speech. Read the full article on this here.
